and complex field, giving priority to the water cycle, its various components
and its interactions with the environment in which it develops and interacts.
As much as possible, the authors have tried to illustrate their remarks with
concrete examples and references as an aid to comprehension. Because this book
is designed for university students as well as engineers, scientists and anyone
with an interest in the management of our water resources, one of our goals is
to look beyond a purely scientific
discussion of hydrology to the fact that mankind needs to wake up to the
urgency of the situation in which we find ourselves. Because without water,
life will end.
