Streeter is published by McGraw Hill Book Company. Division of the material
into two parts, fundamentals and applications, has been retained because of its
wide acceptance in the second edition. The treatment is more comprehensive than
needed for a first course, and the instructor should select those topics he
wishes to stress. A three-semester-hour course could normally include most of
the first five chapters, plus portions of Chapters 6 and 7, with selected
topics from Part Two. Most of the problems have been completely rewritten and
range from very simple ones to those requiring further development of theory.
